Wave Slide
- When Play-Mor contracted us to initiate the project, we determined that they wanted a Super Scoop Wave Slide, a style which had never been available. We began generating sketch concepts detailing the landing area of the new slide as well as ideas on how to improve the overall stability of the product. From there we created CAD concepts which further explored increased stability features, such as tack off cones and ribbing. After much fine tuning of the CAD concepts based upon client feedback, we submitted the data for the CNC carving of the wooden master mold. When the master pattern was satisfactory, we coordinated with the tooler to produce the rubber mold during which the aluminum mold is forged using a sand casting process. The aluminum mold is encased in a framework that is used in the rotational molding machine, which produces the final product.
